X3 F25 Brakes / Disks / Sensors

Hi All,

Anyone have experience in putting on aftermarket brake pads / disks / sensors on their Beemers?

The agents ask an arm and leg, but have been warned that aftermarket parts could cause braking noise and won't have the same stopping power?

I also shopped between 2 BMW dealers and there was a R3k difference in price for front and rear together.

Buying after market is about half the price, but is it half as good?

If you recommend aftermarket, what or where would you recommend sourcing the parts? I'm in Cape Town area.

I've tried Midas and Master Parts(Cheapest)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Farrel

From my experience on my E46's aftermarket worked perfectly fine. I sources ATE disks and Bosch pads with sensors from Goldwagen and had no issues. Braking was perfect and no error issues. The Bosch pads does wear off quite quickly compared to the likes of Ferodo or ATE but the braking is spot on. I did the same on my X5 but with Ferodo pads before selling it and no issues there either.

if you are using good brands like Meyle, ate, hella, trw, textar you wont have a problem

These F25s are still a bit “exclusive”, so a bit challenging to find aftermarket parts from the mainstream retailers.

But ask around.

@RichardH- what’s that website you shared with me a while back?
