Hi all this week I was on my way back from the coast in my X3 20d Xdrive msport when we got a major traffic jam outside Pietermaritsburg we was in the jam for approx 1hour with 4 lanes at virtually standstill going up inclines stopping and pulling off every 2 ~3 seconds for about 5km , eventually I could smell something burning spotted a bit of smoke from under the car that disappeared after a while .I suspect the clutch got hot with all the stopping and starting . Has anyone else experienced this the cars Running perfect no shuddering or slipping of the clutch And. No smell present I drove another 1200km after this happens And everything is 100% the cars on 110k .
