X3 20d EGT gauge

Looking for some help and guidance, drive a 2013 x3 20d and using it as tow car with a caravan. On one of the tows the temp Guage did climb a little, which was a bit concerning. So I am looking to fit a EGT probe and Guage to assist with not abusing the car when towing.

Now, has someone done this? I am not a big fan of drilling the exhaust manifold to fit.... Just a lot of risk. I am looking at maybe fitting the probe post turbo and adjusting the max temps as it will be cooler. 2nd price is to do a proper EGR delete and fit the probe in the blanking plate, but I can't find a kit with a hole allready in the plate.....

Any suggestions?

Cant help you on your exact question about the probe, but if I was you I would remove the EGR in any event as I'm sure your car has done well over 100,000Km by now and whilst you at it have the DPF removed and fit a decent down pipe with software, your car will breath much better resulting in lower temps and more torque for all that towing...
