Hi guys,

Almost hard to believe that it is ten years now since 911! I still remember coming home early and my Dad casually telling me that he heard that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Centre - at first didn't think too much about it, but then thought there must be something about this on CNN, so turned on the TV, rest is history! Soon after the second plane hit!

RIP to all the victims of 911!!

Philip

I remember it was around 3pm SA time. I was in our showroom and was following it on the bigscreen. Needless to say we were glued to the images until hometime.

Getting home, the first thing I did was to switch the TV on.

My wife (then girlfriend) phoned me and told me. I were in the lower section of the Sishen Iron Ore mine's primary crusher, busy repairing a 40 cubic meter concrete splitter.

I was at home and my dad came running in telling us to turn on the TV because of some plane crash thing. Not 1 minute after we turned on the TV the second plane hit.

It still hits home how crazy this is. On Carte Blanche, there was this dad that looks at it as not seeing his son for ten years.

My wife have the opportunity for see ground zero and says it is such sad feeling that automatically comes over you.

Heard it on the radio as the first news broke. Raced to the office, run up to boardroom telling everyone too come and see this. Then switched telly on. Then watched the hole thing unravel.

My first reaction was when it came over the radio was man I need too go and see this movie. Then I realized its real.

Yep, I still remember being transfixed by what I was seeing! It just seemed too incredible to believe! Packed away in my garage somewhere I still have a few video tapes that I had let record CNN for a few hours during and after this - I think from just after the first building went down.

Of course there are so many different theories and opinions about this whole tragedy, but one thing remains the same, the terrible loss of life and the sheer terror experienced. Saw a documentary on DSTV a while back which showed how things unfolded from the perspective of survivors and witness accounts. Horrendous situation that most found themselves in!

Family of ours that live in America had visited the twin towers just one week before the terror attacks!!

I had just gotten home from varisty, turned on TV and saw the first tower on fire, and when they said it had been hit by a plane I knew no way is that an accident, about 10 seconds later the second one came in and hit... :thumbdo:

I stayed out of work that day, to do my neighborly duties for the chick that lived in the flat next to me and my buddies. Heard a loud "WTF is going on" lifted my head up, looked back and saw the chick's boyfriend got home and standing in front of the tv, then he turned to the bedroom and went again "WTF"

Needless to say I had to get up, grab my clothes and leave. after she pushed me off and the boyfriend ran to the kitchen to get a knife. Still regret not getting to finishing the job that day.:bangdesk:

R.I.P to the 2,976 American people that lost their lives on 9/11...BUT also R.I.P to the 48,644 Afghans and the 1,690,903 Iraqi people that paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit.

"Bush lied about Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction... If they can lie so as to kill Iraqis, Afghans and American soldiers, it is not unthinkable for Bush & Co to lie about who was responsible for 9/11" former Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad. Furthermore he added that there was strong evidence that the 9/11 attacks were staged.
