Hi all,
I'm looking for changing my shock absorber on my E90 325i.
Is it worth to get Bilstein B8?
Any comment will be appreciated.

I had B8s on the rear of my 330d and they are excellent shocks, if you can afford the set then i would recommend it especially if you plan on lowering and tracking your car. Currently i have koni orange, they are not as good as the b8s but also great for a daily ride. I have no complaints using them :coolShake:

Have you also looked at the original shocks (Sachs, I think) or are you planning on making future mods.

My 325i with M-Sports spring is already low. Scraching bottom plate everyday. :thumbdo:
The OEM shock (Sachs) only last 60k km for the first set. I'm on 2nd set front shock now for another 70k km. I just don't feel it lasts.:sorry:
Mono-tube might be good. Maybe it's a marketing illusion. But a set of B8 is over R13k front and rear. It's quite an investment.

I would suggest trying the koni orange, they decently priced as well. :coolShake:

The shocks' life is not only based on the kms. The road surface, driving style, route (corners, etc) make a big difference.
I have the same car. Its 8 years old and +/- 89K kms. The shocks were only changed because I hit a pothole (or crater) and the BMW dealership's workshop f**ked up a routine service. They were all still in working order at the time and would still be on the car now (original set)

Fully agree. I had an old 97 Merc C230k. In 12 years, over 180k km, the car was still on original shocks and functioning 100%.
