Ant-man is Dr pimm who is also the guy who invented the Ultron A.I. and started shield. In the comics not the movies. I stand to be corrected.

The first Antman is a founding member of the avengers. Dr Henry "Hank" Pym, created Ultron to serve as a prison guard for his super villain prison. More interested in the rehabilitation of the villains he leaves the avengers. His mantle is then taken up by a recently out-of-jail thief - Scott Lang who initially steals the suit but thereafter gets offered the suit and a spot on the avengers.
