Will a e46 4door sunroof fit a 2door e46 ?

Hi

I have a bmw e46 2 door and the entire sunroof mechanism is broken
I have found a replacement sunroof from a 4 door e46 for a reasonable price

My question is, will this be a straight swap ?

Removing the entire sunroof to fit a new one will be a bastard of a job.

You're better off getting the parts to fix your current one. I'm guessing it's the guide rails that are broken? If not, then the motor? If the motor, it's a simple swap that won't take you 10 minutes.

The rails will take half a day. You can get them from BMW for around 1600 Mandelas.

howsit man

i swapped out the sunroofs already took me about 2 hours :hammerhead:

i bought a second hand sunroof for only R2000

these sunroofs are such bastards :thumbdo: the one i currently had on constantly gave me shit the cable used to jump out of its casing and to reset the sunroof is a bitch

but I'm glad everything is working now :praise:

Good to hear it worked out. Did you consult a workshop manual beforehand or did you figure it out as you went along. Either way, I salute you. It doesn't like a job for the faint of heart. Like me.
