Apart from my E39 528i and Rick's 540i, I would not want any other than a seven!!! (talking old-school, I am)

You can pick the 7 up for the price of a 3 these days... the service plan is not expensive and a warranty covers "specific" parts.. read the non existent fine print... i have a 3 and a 7... looking for an X5 now...

I'd love a 745i (though I suspect 730d is the pick of the bunch), so much car for E90 money! I'll admit though that I have a phobia/paranoia about their maintenance. You hear stories about staying away from the earlier ones (pre '05), failed gearboxes, electronic modules etc...but then again than can happen on an E39 523i and cost you your limbs ...

Talk to us E65ers, put me in the driver's seat of one. A navy one, black interior, 20s, lowered suspension :thumbsup: !!

heads up is. 730d is the most reliable, post the 2004.

The 745's however are fantastic, biggest issue is that there is a coolant pipe that leaks, this pipe runs through the motor, meaning you have to pull the motor (although guys say that it can be done with motor in place)

High torque on all of the 7's so the gearbox's do give problems...

I cannot put you in a drivers seat, that you have to do yourself, to describe the drive in this car is impossible, you have to experiance it, and it will surpass all of your expectations, that I promise you.
