Tankies very much for the offer of the 20 or 22, much appreciated.

I have contemplated putting a nice set of rims on the 7 and taking the 7's and putting them on the 5...

Def something to think about, and no problems what so ever

Alas, not many 7 owners on the forum.

I know of one 745 Belonging to Ger745 I think.

Then there is Bimmerman with an E38.

Stickshift recently aquired an E32 that he is resotring.

And then Rick has owned like 71 E32's...

Most of the guys on and off the forum figure that the 7 series is a big fat boat and as such handles like a boat and are reserved for old people, damm are they wrong.

There is no more risk in owning a 7 series then what there is any other fine luxury saloon. For sure maintance compared to say a 320 is far off, but its not that much differant to say a fully specced 5 or 3 . Yes there are some parts that are propriatary 7 series and your going to pay through your left nostril for them, but a lot of parts are interchangable.

Crux of the matter is I wish more people would go and test drive a seven series, it is sooooo much car :)

I have no illusions that the 7's are awesome cars in all things including handling, it is a BMW after all, I have also seen that you can get decent ones for fairly cheap. The problem is that the 7 is not really my kind of car especially not at my age, I think I am still a bit to young to be driving a 7, one day when I am grown up I want a 760i :) of course I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to give me this

How much longer is a 7 compared to the E60 5 Series? My dad has .5cm clearance @ front & .5cm @ back in our garage..

That's the secret thing about 7's

The handling!

I actually think a stock E38 out handles a stock E39 I've owned both.

People are probably led to believe that 7 won't handle well due to their size, but that is just the thing all BMW have great handling, if it didn't it wouldn't be a BMW, now would it.
The e38 is probably my favourite 7.

Apart from my E39 528i and Rick's 540i, I would not want any other than a seven!!! (talking old-school, I am)
