I have been writing this thread over the past few weeks, taking my time to include as much info as I could as I would like to give you fanatics an insight into what Definitive Detailing & Valet is and how we operate.
I hope to give forum members a better understanding of what we do and how we do it. Who we are and how we got to this point.
The person behind Definitive Detailing & Valet
My name is Michael Stafford, and I am the owner and sole detailer at my own company. I have always had a passion for cars, not just looking at them but driving and experiencing all kinds of cars ranging from Smart Cars through to high performance exotics.
My passion for cars came from a very young age, and continues to grow having spent a short year doing sales in the motor industry through to my detailing and car photography.
The first car I detailed was a Volkswagen Golf GTI:
At this point I was 16 years old, using Rally Polish and a hose pipe to clean cars when I came across a simply awesome website dedicated to making cars shiney - The seed was planted and I was intrigued.
By 2007 I was detailing clients cars in the car-park at hostel whilst still in school, much to the distaste of my friends who couldnt understand why sane people were trusting me with expensive cars. My first ever two day detail has me take three days off school afterwards due to exhaustion. :fencelook:

From here things grew and by the age of 18 I was working on cars like this beautiful Porsche 911 Turbo Techart:
At this point I took a break from Detailing, heading up Liqui Moly in the Western Cape followed by a year at MINI.
Two months ago I re-launched my company with a new name, new image and twice the knowledge, know how and equipment I had ever had before.
What is the attraction you have to detailing and car care?
Most people cannot begin to understand why anyone would be attracted to hard labour and effort. As a detailer I enjoy the process of detailing, the attention to detail required and the feeling of starting something and finishing it.
Much like most jobs there are things about detailing I enjoy and dislike. I love doing the write-ups and the feedback, but I hate emptying filthy vacuum cleaners and hanging out over 40 cloths every two days so they can dry.
What I most enjoy is bringing happiness to car owners, the smile on their face when they see the finished car, the absolute look of shock and surprise.

When I decided to re-launch my detailing I decided to go big, forget everything and go straight to the top. This means that we dont just polish cars and clean engine bays.
Definitive Detailing & Valet bridges the gap between man and machine.
We are a unique company, based in Cape Town that specializes in vehicle maintenance. We offer packages that provide value, instant results and convenience that is yet to be seen. Our service is a mobile service, offering exceptional service and advice.
Definitive Detailing & Valet is also a new brand offering a service not many fully understand. This brings with it many challenges, nontheless our goal is to become the number one detailing company in Cape Town in the next 5 years.
A huge goal, but a determined force.
What services can Definitive Detailing & Valet offer?
Our services depend solely on our client and his/her needs. We offer various packages which offer great value, but also offer custom services for those that are not too sure of what they need.
Our detailing & valet service is completely mobile, bringing our expertise to your front door.

Definitive Detailing & Valet strives for perfection and use only premium, well known and trusted products ranging from Meguires through to Chemical Boys, Collonite and Smart Wax in order to produce the perfect finish on your vehicle.
Our services are not just limited to vehicles, but also motorcycles and even Jetski's.
