Morning, just phoned BMW for pricing on some parts and would like to know who I can contact in Cape Town area (preferably near table view) for parts. I need some straight forward service parts like air and oil filter but also need clutch kit and flywheel...
I tried Goldwagen but they dont have service parts (2001 318i E46 pre f/l):thumbdo: and the clutch kit does not include a thrust bearing?

What do you suggest?

Try Goeiehoop Onderdele in Kuilsriver. Their prices are good. Bought some front brake discs from them for my 2003 E39 diesel after i twice had to return wrongly supplied and more expensive discs from Midas. They could not get the right parts at all. Iirc, disc were Febi

Thanks, going to order the clutch bits from Midas this afternoon, R6500 including the flywheel.
Is it OK to buy air filter and oil filter from Midas or would you only recommend BMW parts?

Stick to bmw. Their service parts aren't expensive if not they're cheaper than anywhere else.

You'll all be shocked - BMW parts pricing has gone mad since Jan they bumped everything up a lot recently. For example Bayn's DISA cost R3000 in December on Jan 4th they were R4156. Cabin filter for the 318i pre f/l R600 agents vs R170 at Midas for Mann which is probably a better filter.

Make list of all you want in excel, then phone 4 or 5 places and gets quotes from them all whilst loading them into the spread sheet - then compare. You will be shocked what you can save without comprimising quality. Worst case you need to go to two places, but I'm not R600 for a cabin filter !!
