Can someone please explain why it is so difficult to get after market mags for a 5 series? it is almost impossible to find nice mags what is it about the 5 series that makes it so difficult. cant you just add a adapter or something to make them fit?

The problem is that the offset is different on the 5 series to a 3 series.... It can be done but you need like 25mm spacers :banghead:
I don't think spacers are very safe...
And on the e39 the bub center is biger,,, don't know why.

The offset of the e34 is the problem. They are around the 20 to 22mm mark, and the majority of aftermarket rims are anything from 35mm plus. You can use spacers but do make sure it is good quality. I was quoted r500.00 each.

Keep looking, I know I eventually stopped trying with my E34, but there are wheels out there.

Yes the 22mm offset is not too common when looking for wheels.

Spacers work well but its also very important to get longer wheel bolts to go with them too.You need to be able to turn the bolts 6 full times......You can get hub adaptors too which will make the correct bore size for E39 hubs...You may need to import those as I don't know if they would be made locally

ok so i will go the spacer way and give them a try, another thing i cant decide on is the wheel size ,17ns or 18ns and also what springs do i use to drop the car a bit and whats the max i can drop them with original shocks? i dont want it dropped to the road just enough to suit the wheels.
