Wheel bearings

Could be tyres. Try another set of wheels first, often the tyres that are making a noise similar to shot bearings.

Jack the car up so the wheel is free to spin.

Hold the spring with one hand and spin the wheel, if you can feel a vibration through the spring your bearing is toast.

Go for a drive, don't use the brakes to much, so as not to induce brake heat into the hub
once stopped place your hand on each wheel centre cap, the one that is a lot hotter than the other three is your defective bearing

if you do any aggressive braking, then you will not get a good temperature feel, as the temperature build-up from aggressive braking will mask the temperature build-up from a worn wheel bearing
