Wheel alignment question

Got a quick question for the wheel gurus:

If I go from 18" to 19" wheels, would I need to have my alignment redone. Plan on keeping the rolling diameter almost the same (or less than 3% variation at most). The 19 mags would have a slightly more aggressive offset than the 18s though.

Suggestions and input please.

I would think it should not really make a difference, but I am open to correction here, so let's see who else has a better more educated answer.

PM ABMI, he's our wheel guru

Huh?

Hey msm,

If alignment was done recently and the variance is less than 5% on rolling diameter, I wouldn't pay too much attention, even though some people will differ. It ought to be plug & play. Also, based on the wear of the current wheel, it should tell you lots.
Having said that, most places check alignment for free, so it shouldn't cost a cent whilst a slight adjustment could cost you a tyre/s. :thumb:

And don't forget to post pic of the 19"

I woudn't worry about the alignment with such a small Increase, what you might find if you intend fitting wider tyres, is that the rear tyres tend to wear on the inside due to the negative camber BMW's tend to have at the rear.

I dont understand what the question is?

the angles should stay the same regardless of tire/wheel size and offset... if you trying to solve a rubbing or handling issue you can change the angles otherwise stick to what BMW says is best...

Will definitely post pics after fitting the wheels, but it might have to wait until next weekend.
