Just downloaded Blue Stacks and Whatsapp.apk (Internet connection required for entire process)

Click here to DL Bluestack: http://www.bluestacks.com/bstk-download-success-2.htm ... then run the installer and let it do it's thing OR you can download the offline installer which you can save and use onto other devices instead of having to re-DL... here is a link
http://cdn.bluestacks.com/downloads/0.7.4.793/BlueStacks_HD_AppPlayerPro_setup_0.7.4.793_REL.msi [Should be the latest version] and will require that you meet the prerequisites for Windows XP.

Whatsapp you can DL through their Android site...

F.Y.I Bluestack is a freeware, Android emulator for PC :thumb:

For the not-so-good computer guys you can follow this installation guide here:

http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-use-whatsapp-messenger-on-your-windows-pc/

it's really good and offer insightful instructions and includes pics!

Now I'm busy adding contacts....seems to run good with a little lag at the start...hope this doesn't chow a lot of cap!

Ok just been capped but that's because I had to download those huge files!

Overall the user-friendliness is good, as I have not owned any Android device yet, I'm not sure if the layout is the same :dunno: If you're one of those tech-orientated/computer literate persons then navigating and changing settings etc. on Blue Stack isn't very challenging.

Although just a few minutes of using this software I find an impracticality/small niggle and that's the use of a mouse or worse your laptop trackpad! instead of your fingers i.e. on your touchscreen phones...so things would be a bit slower on the PC in terms of 'movement and navigation'.

So I guess that this application is intended for those that likes the extra connectivity or for those whom don't own smartphones and want to be 'connected' to the Whatsapp-phenomena.

Oh discovered that you'll need international cap to be able to connect as I can't connect using local cap :nonono: :thumbdo:

I just did this!!
:joy:
I'm having tons of fun. I can look busy at work and chat to the girlfriend at the same time. (damn, I sound like an infomercial)

The crap thing is that once you have it on your pc, it doesn't work on your phone anymore. So when you are not in front of a pc with an internet connection you are "off the grid"

Thanks a ton boet

Get a cheap PAY AS YOU GO SIM and register that number to your PC. You can still use your phone as well.

This should work.

If I download it on my pc and register my current number, then I wont be able to ever use it on my phone again??

Is there no way to use both?

Yes you cant use one number on more than one device as far as I know, that why I say get another cheap PAY AS YOU GO sim and then you sorted.
