Hi:wave:, i am new on the forums, but am in the process of purchasing a 1999 e36 m3- 4door. i just wanted to know what everyone thinks of this car and is it reliable? it would be great to get some insight from people who have experienced the e36 m3 themselves. What are the common problems or issues i should look at when buying one

i would note want to buy one which gives me lots of problems

Also get a printout from BMW of its Motorplan history and get them to explain what the codes are . You'll be able to see if the car has repeat problems or major repairs.

Absolutely luv the e36 3.2 M3, it is such an awesome machine. Been wanting one for a while now. I'm just very wary of the reported high maintenance costs and reliability issues now that they are getting on in years and you never sure what previous owners have subjected the cars to. Perhaps the M3 owners can shed some light?

Nice burn out  @ Wykid you miss understood me I feel no pain for this car as I can see the owner takes care of it.

A friend of mine was busy stripping down a E46 M3. Motor blown(150K), broken diff carrier and the list goes on endlessly(Thats what I'm referring to). We couldn't believe how someone could ruin such a boss car.

Back to the topic.
Awesome cars, Watch the tail in the wet...:)
