Howdy peeeeeeeps!

so, i got myself an e36 328i.
last night a friend of mine was servicing his car and invited me round to have a look at any details that need attention on my car. I open up the bonnet and everything looks kewl. All but one little tube on the far right of the engine bay that sucks air when the motor is running. This tiny tube was not connected to anything and if i block it while the engine runs i notice the tone of the motor changes.

I know this is vague and it would be better to get a picture of it, but im just wondering if anyone would know right away what that thing is. the rubber tube tip is fitted with a metal pip type thing.

will get pictures asap but any help would be appreciated.

shot:)

well, its my 1st BMW so I wouldnt know if its idle is extreme but I dont think it does. Its really quite quiet when it does. if the pipe gets blocked then its idle drops lower.....if any of that helps lolz;)

the tube goes down the engine somewhere but the end of it comes out on the right side by the fuse box side.

Yeah, the flux capacitor must have fallen off the end of the torsion tube. The car will still run, but wont have the go it should.

its a geek star trek thing.....its always the flux capacitors or the eps conduits;)

but yeah, i'm thinking that its somehow related to the manifold.

It sounds to me like it is your Idling control valve pipe!
It goes in by your intake pipe just after the air flow sensor!
