Hi, I have been thinking about a kindle for a while now...

Any suggestions on the best model for the price?

I see they have a new Kindle Paperwhite, anyone have one and is it worth buying?:YesNo:

Why don't you get a ipad or samsung tablet as it has more functionality

I have a Lenovo 8 inch tablet that I share with my brother who uses it for studying, figured I would look at a Kindle because all I need it for is reading. Got my phone for the games and the other stuff...

Lol get the tablet so you wouldn't need to share, and true but there will be that day when you realize you should of just gotten a tablet instead of something which has only a single function n they are fairly the same price

Cause a kindle is for reading, tablets not. Kindles screen is better for reading and your eyes as well.

We got my ou toppie one few years back, he loves it. Reads for ohurs and never complains about sore eyes.

It also goes for days on end without needing to be charged....

I read allot on my iPad Air, and have no issues with the lighting - i must say its quite soft on your eyes as it automatically adjusts the display according to your room lighting.

get a paperwhite if you a serious reader. you dont want a screen with backlighting for extended reading as it will become strenuous. this rules out the fire or any tablet.

But go into a store and try them all out. see what you are comfie with

For what it's worth. Over the last month I have read the codex alera series, 7 books and had no eye strain. Guess it just depends on how you feel about it.
