What is an old E23 745i worth?

I'm seriously in love with an old girl that isn't mine (yet)!
I'm trying to convince the 76 year old 1st owner of this beautiful 745i to sell/swop to me, but "no go" at the moment, too much sentimental value he says!
Friend of mine had a look on the Natis system and says it is a 1984 model and 1st registered in 1986.
It is the auto and has only 174k km on the odo. Car hardly driven nowadays.
Leather and interior in very good condition. No dings on the body. Little bit of rust around the sunroof and fuel filler cap.
Car currently with BMW guru for a cold start problem, idles rough when cold. Motor fine when hot. No other issues.
What is the upper and lower price range for a car in this condition?

What I've learnt from the Discovery Channel show 'Fast'nLoud'

"sentimental" is not a nice word to hear from a seller. Usually means it's goin to be overpriced.

Very nice. Would love to see more pics, inside and engine bay :inlove:

Usually these are not in very good condition these days and they sell for between 15k and 45k. So it depends on what you're willing to pay, and what the sentiment is worth to the old man.

If this is the one with the E28 M5 engine then it should be 200-300k Region

cant be...…...

Its 1 of 200 made. I think only 17 where manual so that is even more special.

The E23 745i with the E28 M5 engine was only available in RSA.

My dad and I restored one of these about three years back and got close to 200k for it... It still had a couple of issues. And yes it has a m88( same as the E28 M5) engine in it.. and there is a plaque just under the dash by the centre console with the cars number and who it was built for.

I know they are rare and special but that doesn't meant they should be worth 300k. but then again, each to his own:skit:

Price is whatever the seller takes.

just dont take it to a second hand car salesman

those peoples only have one price in their head irrespective of car and condition, like a stuck record player..."R30 000"
