@Nick - LOL

I have an Xbox 360 and a ps3. I game on both systems equally, although recently gaming at all has become a very rare occasion. Winter has me sleeping early. seeing as I have both consoles in the lounge, I watch a lil TV in the bedroom and then sleep.

I play on PC a game called Quakelive at www.quakelive.com

It is a free first person shooter browser based game that takes about 20 minutes to get playing from registration to shooting your first rocket.

Quakelive is based on the Quake 3 Arena engine with similiar physics to that of the OSP mod.

In my view Q3A OSP was probably the most balanced first person shooter ever developed and Quakelive continues with this legacy. Although the weapons were balanced in terms of their hit points/second in Q3A OSP, this meant that players with very good accuracy could dominate a map with very little strategy, this has been rectified in Quakelive.

There are about 20 players at any given time on the servers in the evening with a wide range of skill ranging from beginner to very good (there is one player who was considered to be "pro" a decade or so ago who currently is active on QL), I consider myself to be a good amateur player. Different game modes are also available from the very intense "duels" to a much more arcade style experience in "clan arena" formats.

At the moment I'm looking for limited sponsorship in terms of sharing the costs of my internet. I use my connection for the sole purpose of playing Quakelive and its currently costing me R300 for 2gb, I'm looking for a limited sponsorship of R100pm in which case I will add your brandname or whatever infront of my nick.

Besides this game, I actually do not play any other games on any other console although I am a pretty keen chessplayer with a rating of 1970 on www.freechess.org

Well you need to compare apples to apples really, you have to take a PC with similar hardware before you can really compare.

Not that I am that big a fan of consoles or gaming for that matter nowadays but I can tell you the PS3 does a hell of a lot with just 256MB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM and GPU with a clock of just 550MHz.

I love consoles for one or two simple reasons...

No need to upgrade them.. Games are made to work on them as is... - where pc you always have to bloody upgrade.. - why i stopped pc gaming.

HD on the consoles are pretty bloody awesome and decent sound + + +

At least i know my console will last and no worries about compatibility issues with display cards etc :)

Sorry that's my 2c.

You have a point with the lack of hardware in the ps3, it is really good for what it has to use. The only reason i sold the xbox and bought the PS3 is it serves as a Media centre better than the xbox IE: bluRay and all that jazz.

But my loyalties still stay with ATI and Intel!
