what could i get for 170k

Ideally I'd like to get into a 130i m-sport but cant seem find anything or maybe my searching skills need work. Any help?

For R170k? Simple - E39 M5 and have spare cash for repairs.

You should also be able to get a E90 330i for that price. May need to search a bit to find a M sport model.

Decent condition 130i prices are around R200k+, but seeing that the 1M just launched you could negotiate with dealers that the slow 130i is now overpriced ....

I would go for E39 M5 or E46 M3, but you will have to be quite careful not to buy junk, there are some decent ones for those prices but require searching.

Got a call from the dealer yesterday with a good deal:
Black 320d M Sport for (i think he said) R160k

What are you after, basic wheels, then look at a decent E46 for like 100k less then what you want to spend.

Looking for a toy, then buy an E39 M5 or E46 M3.

Looking for a cruiser, E65's can be had for that money in awesome/low km condition.

^ with all due respect...the c class cars suck balls. I have driven my mother's countless times, and she mine and she absolutely adores the e46, and I absolutely loathe the c-class.

All that is resembles is prestige and that is where the buck stops. Interior quality is mediocre, brakes suck, handles like a fishing vessel, power delivery is numb.... I would rather buy another brand.

Edit: I forgot the electronic gremlins that the cars are plagued with.
