what am i getting myself into!

Hi guys.

i need some advise. firstly if this is the problem and secondly how long will it take one to fix it yourself.

i have noticed recently that the car is smoking heavely. but only under part load and idle after the car has warmed up properly. take about 20min driving .

i took her into a bmw specialist(private oke) he says it is the cvv and by replacing it it would solve all my heartakes.

please adives if this has happend to anyone els.:ty:

symptoms are as follows.

roughish idle for about 30sec at first start up in the moring the settles to nice smooth idle.
smoking only under part load when warm
no smoking when cold or getting warm

blue i uses about 500ml on 2 tank of fuel

Blue is usually oil. Do a compression test. Myt be ur rings that are going. Sorry for only replying now

I have an e46 CCV here, I though my 320i one was tossed, replaced it and same story....seems I have to get the Oil Filter Gasket replaced...


I have the old CCV here if you want... just collect it... no cost

thanks bud, is it still in working order? you say you replaced it? is your car still smoking.

i dont think its rings as the car only smokes when on normal running temp.not when cold.
