Hi Guys

What happened to the western cape charity run thread?
I know there was some unhappiness about it, but we can't just abandon it.

A few days ago I learned about some kids (Around 5-7 years) who hardly get to eat a proper meal, but fortunately a local company donated some food parcels they had made up at a local business. Unfortunately there seems to have been a communication issue and this is what ended up in the food parcels...

I will not go into my feeling about this. Yes, it's good that a donation was made, but a bag full of sugar is the last thing these kids need.

We have a chance here to do something right and proper for REACHING OUT TO OTHERS. Please reply if you are interested. :thumb:

We busy changing the date to either Saturday or Monday because of Mandela's funeral on Sunday.
SMG had already sent out a mailer to their database saying that the event is called off cos of the funeral.
It will just be us fanatics

I am liaising with the charity. They not expecting a braai other than the programme as in the programme above and on the home page.

The charity did ask for food donations for their christmas lunch on 25 Dec. So if you have food or braai meat that you wish to donate for their christmas lunch you are very welcome.

I suggest we focus on the wishlist in the posts above and try and donate as much towards that.

I will post a list today of pledges already received for the charity.
