currently over Soweto, moving East to North-East towards O R Tambo.

the red shading indicates that it severe, and the last time I saw these colours was the hail storm over Edenvale/Germiston/Alberton last year

worst of the current storm is now over Babsfontein, looks like some hail there now judging by the red colour contours, the trailing edge of the current thundercell over Ednevale might have a dying breathe of rain and hail, seen by the red speckles in it

More storms brewing out towards Carltonville, headed towards JHB in about 1hour

You can keep on "braaing", looks like only the South Eastern areas (Silverlakes-Gaarsfontein-KittyHawk) might get a close brush with the edge of the cells.....

so it looks like the weather is almost over

the current cell over Kempton/Irene stretching now towards PTA, doesn't look like hail anymore, the big thundercell is now over Groblersdal/Marblehall district, and it looks vicious.

radio 702 reporting hail in Alberton...looks like Giloolys moving along the R24 to O R Tambo, tip of the storm extends to just north of Edenvale/modderfontein road...moving eastwards

There was a thunderstorm with hail in Alberton - I can confirm - the size of peas - lucky for me I was working from home today :rollsmile:

I got caught up in some Hail today

Last year this time I was stuck in that crazy Hail storm on the East....

Got caught in the storm as I left the office at 5. Was small hail at first. Then bigger ones. I saw it shatter a window of a car in front of me.

I lucky I was at the entrance to Rosebank Mall parking. Swung in there and waited an hour.
