Hi Folks,

Holiday time is on us, so guess who may actually have some time for his own cars....

Putting on the head next week.

I am looking for a complete interior for an E36 in decent condtion, but I mean everything, carpets bla bla bla due to mine being water soaked at some point.

Found a couple

Head is going back on tomorrow, and she should run.

Will phone them in the am.

Just want to make sure the car actually goes, have never driven it.

For all I know, the gearbox could be stuffed....

Guys was supposed to paint the car last week, which of course did not happen, so its all "naked"

Will do tomorrow.

Car looks horrid at the moment though, its stripped to shreads and flatted down...

Panel beater still needs to correct rust in the boot, and fix the fenders/side skirt as well...

Soo.....

She lives...

Sorta...

We battled to get the car started, first. suspected dirty fuel, as the car has not run for at least a year, but could be as much as 2 to 3 years.

Put some fresh juice in, only to discover still no fuel, correct the fuel pipes as they were put back to front, and you can start her up.

Car smokes seriously bad, and we suspect sump compression.

Only ran it for about 20 minutes, but the longer we ran it, the better the smoke got.

She even idles now quite nicely. Was short hose clamps to take it for a test drive, which I will replace tomorrow, and go driver her around a bit.

Gearbox engages, no bearing noise. Lifters are actually quiet considering that they were stripped down and cleaned.

She battled to idle at first, even that is getting more and more stable the longer we run it.

Worst case scenario is that I do a bottom end rebuild.... bla...

Im going to however paint the car first, seeing though that 80% of the prep is done, and then drive the car for about 1,000km, and see if the rings settle.

I drove her today, Ok fine just up and down in the parking lot, but managed WOT a couple of times.

Guess what, the smoke is getting better and better, its almost completly gone.

I recon 1000km then I will figure out if I am going to do the bottom end, but it looks really promising.

Gearbox can do with a service, but engages nicely.

Aircon does not work :(

As for the interior, I will start looking hard in 2 weeks time, before I get the interior,

So here are just a few pics. The car looks like crap, for now...

Which is down right terrible, because believe it or not, its only got 148 on the clock.....
