Hello good sirs, and ladies (fake ladies included)

I seek big end bearings for our yellow g spec :fencelook:

I have no idea what these are, all I know is that my dad cannot find them in Durban (apparently)

So where can I find them in jhb?

Thanks,
Fuzz

You can import a set from overseas for roughly R2 000.

I would be hesitant to use a second hand set from a different engine unless you are brilliant with a micrometer or can get plastigauge so as to measure clearances.

+1

I wouldn't use second hand ones as bearings are designed to crush when bolted in. They are made slightly larger than the machined hole and it is this that keeps them tight. Once they have been used they will not fit as tight again.

I agree with you guys, new is always better.

Ive heard some horror stories of non-original bearings fail in the E36 M3's.
So i would say that OEM bearings are your best bet.

i wouldnt put second hand bearings in, but some people have no choice.
Its sad but true.
