i was chatting to my mechanic and he knows a couple guys with "garage queens".
a Renualt Clio V6 (800 km on the clock)
E46 M3 (6500 km)
Golf 4 GTi R (1200km)
ect.

I think the GTi is kept as a garage queen because no one wants to drive one :fencelook:

Car looks very nice, but some things I noticed, Tyre thread for 9000km don't look right, why would they polish the lips on the rim for such an original example? and one more thing, the caps over the wiper arms are missing...

Not saying its not original, just what I noticed

I see where you going... I agree and I agree with other comments about the bolt and spoiler but over all car still looks very nice.

Where is the engine bay strut bar? off because of service?

I have a e36 m3 and my engine bay is a cleaner condition and drive regularly although my wiper caps got lost but most likely stolen...

E36 M3 does not come with an engine bay strut bar

Seems every M3 has a history.
Like a sexy lady, they have all made mistakes somewhere in life.

This one doesn't seem to be any different.

This car was taken for a ""joy ride"", tyres were scrapped, replaced with second hand ones to get to the shop and front end was hurt a little. After this the car didnt move for 3 years.
The engine has taken some strain, hence its in for some TLC.

After seeing it with my own eyes it is a beauty.
Really a fine example, some things have been changed, probably not the best idea.

Hopefully with some help they can return this car to what it should be.

This is a good example of an M3. I noticed 1 more thing, the side skirts are mounted with screws where they should be mounted with plastic clips.

I also know of an M3 white E36 that's on cedar road owed
by the car dealership owner(not sure of the dealership name) it had 90xxxkm on the clock

This is honestly a waste of a car and I don't why some people do this. Great the mileage is super low , but these car were not built to be garage queens , atleast not to this effect.

I also know a guy in cpt with a CSL that has less than 15 000 kms on

Even if I owned the Franshoek car museum , I will drive all of those cars on a regular basis. Letting any car stand for long periods of time is looking for maintenance head aches. I wouldn't buy this even it was for sale and I could afford it.

2 off my friends have perfect gems that are always garaged and never used.

Friend 1: 2005 BMW M3 CSL. Bought in 2009 with 44 000km odd on the clock, currently sitting with 45 734kms (got the pic as proof) raise:

Friend 2: 1998 BMW M3 in Estoril Blue 141 000kms, FSH at the stealers. Mint condition is an understatement.:thumbs:

If only i could post pics of the cars but then again my friendship is on the line

Exactly my point, life is way to short to preserve a car like that. I would never do it :thumbdo:

There's a huge difference between low-mileage and this type of owners who preserve the car for who knows what.
