Car resides in Vryburg of all places so owner had to come down and stay with family whilst we worked on it.
He was referred to us by a Fanatic (Dax-Mr H thank you for the referral).
Car is carbon black with 72500 and 2003 y.m.

Andy you will be pleased to know that your generosity in making your seals and rattle kit available will stand you in good stead.

Work on the car had been done by a local indy as well as Agents who recently changed oil and did not bother to use the copper washer on the sump plug.....have you tried getting a sump plug loose without a copper washer for interference? The plug was almost welded on the sump.
The local indy had recently changed spark plugs that were bought from the agents but he had no clue how the assembly is on the car so he mis routed some stuff.

Here are some of the pics we took of the procedure.

As it came in
Cold air intake system made up of thin carbon fiber

Valve cover as found. Car had plugs changed a few hundred Ks ago

We also changed cam gear bolts.
Apparently from 2003 onward the factory used loctite on them but these did not have any so we changed bolts and used loctite.

Rattle kit

Shafts were stripped and cleaned as they are heavy with loctite from the factory.

The oil filter on the solenoid block was very clean I unfortunately did not take pics of it as Alexander was busy studying (how too improve ones gaming reflexes) so got carried away.

Andy's seals and rattle kit about to be commandeered.

New seals on caps

Exhaust piston before

And exhaust piston after new seals

Inlet piston before

Inlet piston after new seals. The second seal goes in the vanos body and is a challenging installation.

.......and in closing I wish to quote a friend of mine "Thank you for reading"
