Voortrekker Monument run - Sunday 8 July

Gents,

So here is my idea for those who's interested...

Lets meet up on the 7'th or 8'th July at the Mcdonalds car park in Boksburg. (the one opposite east rand mall). From there we take a nice drive through to Pretoria. Those that feel like it can drive up and down but if not we can just meet you there. The spot will be the Voortrekker Monument. It's more or less a 50km drive on the R21.

It's also a awesome place to take photo's.

Sounds like a plan....if I can make it I will come from Krugersdorp direction so maybe there can be a meetup spot somewhere on the N14 too?

The last time I was there, police came and told us to rather go somewhere else and told us some very bad stories of what happens there on a weekly basis. A year or so later, the stories they told us happened to a couple of friends. The one guy was in the hospital for a number of weeks.

Fort Klapperkop - beautiful! Just like those scenes in the movies overlooking the entire city.

Since it may be a large group of Fanatics, it should be safe if we stick together. Meet at the entrance and do the scenic but short drive and park off at the highest point to braai and socialise, take pics etc.

Guys, rather make it at the Voortrekkers Monument.
There you can visit the monument, and go up to Skanskop fort, and they also have a braai area, some small game/wildlife, and the entrance is something like R20-R30 per person, so not that expensive.
Also its MUCH safer there! :thumb:

Murali, if you know where fort klapperkop is, its basically on the oposite side of the ben schoeman highway.
