Hi all
Is it possible to get the vin number of a vehicle using the license plate number?
Anyone able to assist?

(I know Coisman could do this but his only back next week sometime)

It's definitely possible, but you'll need someone with Coisman's type of access to check. No buddies in the traffic dept?

I know Insurance Companies have the access to get the information, if you up to it maybe phone your insurance company and tell them you want a quote on the car and then when they ask for the details give them the reg number they'll be able to pull all the details through and then ask for the VIN number for reference.

When I insured my car I didn't have the VIN at the time so gave them the License plate details and they gave me the VIN.

Its a long process but if you don't have any other alternative then it might work

I know some tow truck drivers have an app that they use in case of accidents to see if the car is insured and if they can tow it.

I've seen it once where you give them a license plate number and they can give you the information from the insurance to the policy holder details and car details. Maybe find a truck that is parked on the side of the road and see if they can do it for you

Most dealerships can pull the VIN from the REG.

I do it all day (CDK DRIVE SYSTEM)
