I Bought a BMW e46 318 - the car is and was great - i go to BMW Auto Atlantic - i give them the VIn number the car stats with them says the car is Titanium Silver metallic with Black leather interior - I go back to the car its White with grey interior - i go to the registration dept and they say the car is white.

What is the chances the info at BMW about the chassis number does not corresponde with the actuall car?

Is there any other way to confirm is the car is been worked on or changed in any way?

Can anyone assit me in any way?

It could be a couple of things...one is typo on the part of the person putting in the info...2nd is a clone VIN,has happened twice here as far as I know so that means there are plenty more unkowns out there...third is BMW themselves f***ed up and not registered the VIN correctly-my car is an example here doesn't show on the UK systems but does on realoem, often been asked if its an import, yet I have the full service history and even when it was bought from the dealer

I will be taking the car in to Auto Atlantic soon - they will be checking the car out for me and letting me know what is going on and why the info is incorrrect and how this is possible - the guy at auto atlantic said the chances that there info is incorrect is very slim to none - if even possible as when it leaves the factory its checked and checked again against faults - but ok this is 10 years ago we were more relaxed back then.

hope to find out more soon and keep you posted

thanks

The guy at Auto Atlantic is correct... The chances it is wrong are super slim.

I work for Auto Atlantic but on MINI's side. Who are you dealing with?

Want to PM the VIN too?

Our systems never lie. Literally.

stupid question. where is the engine number on a 318i :)

Need to send it minimike19 to check a few things.

Please let me know what the outcome is... I also have a few "discrepancies" with my 318i.
