Hi......my name is Stéphan i live in Pretoria/Montana i recently swapped my brother for his 318 ti and afew months down the line i encountered a problem with the car smoking while in traffic but as soon as you on the road driving the smoke is gone i then realized its the valve-stem seals need to be replaced. i then continued driving the car to college and back and one day just heard beeeeeeep and saw the warning lights on i then booked the car in at BMW Zambezi and they found the problem, it was the steering angle sensor, the quote was 4k + its alot so i thought i could source i 2nd hand one for cheaper or maybe solve the problem in a different way.......so someone told me he will calibrate it and see what happens i dont know if it will work though. And as i thought all is done the sunroof also broke along the way .....my first BMW

Hi Stephan, Welcome to the forum.

Sunroof repair is going to be costly. do you know what is wrong with the sunroof? Maybe some sliders? or something? I had this issue on my GTi but VW sorted it out under warranty. Your car though...is not under motorplan...best would be to take it to BMW and let them check and tell you what is wrong. im sure you will pay a inspection fee or something?

I have good stories from a local BMW Mechanic called GIZMO.
Please can someone provide Stephan with GIZMO's contact details??

You can also maybe contact Axis.

What is the sunroof not doing?

I have a problem where my sunroof does not tilt up, but it will slide open and closed properly. This is the brackets on the rails. The parts you need can be bought from BMW for 1.5k, and you could DIY.

OR

There is a place (I forget the name) that will do the repair for 2.5k all inclusice.
