Hi All

I just got my 320d back from its first service. I baught it brand new last year June

In January this year I got the V belt replaced since it was making a hell of a noise. It started making the same noise some time in Feb again but only when its cold

I took it in today for the normal service and I ask them to check it again. When I went to pick it up this afternoon they told me that its a known problem on this model and they are woking on getting a new pully system that does not damage the belt. But until then they will have to replace it as needed. They said the ETA on the new system is June this year

I am on the list now it turns out there are quite a few with this problem and BMW is doing a recall on this. But I don't know if this guy was just talking out his ass to tell you the truth

Has anyone else heard about this?

Yes, it is a known problem on the 320d. 2 V-belts have been replaced already on my one and I have only done 32000 kms since new. I wonder if this is the case only with the LCI e90? Northcliff Auto has been notified by myself and the service advisor also confirmed.

Do you have any further details of the recall because when the problem starts then the V-belt makes an unbearable noise especially when the engine is cold.

Please keep us posted.
