Using a Roku to Mirror Showmax from Android Device

Hi,

I have a Roku (3600R stick imported, not Kwese type) and I want to view ShowMax on my TV.

Before I sign up for ShowMax, can anyone advise whether I can mirror (Android term for "casting", but not quite exactly) ShowMax from my phone to my Roku?

When I tried mirroring on Google Movies (app on my phone) to the Roku, the app content was blocked from showing on the TV. I got around this by using the YouTube app on the Roku (already links to your Google Movies account in the playlist section of YouTube).

When i had showmax i battled to mirror it from android to smart tv but could easily do that with netflix or youtube..i also found showmax content to be very old when compared to netflix. I cancelled showmax. I felt like its like streaming dstv.

So, signed up for ShowMax but the Roku does not allow the video to mirror through.

I will use my PS4 to stream it.

I use a Linux machine for all my Streaming needs. Small PC capable of even running SteamOS so can even play a game or 2 on the TV as well. :thumbs:
