User profile programming on the Key

So I recently bought my '09 z4 coupe 2nd hand and was going through the owners manual. I was pleasantly suprised to see that the user profiles could be programmed onto the keys. Options like which seat configuration, 1 or 3-flash indicators, surround lighting etc.

The catch is that the dealership will charge me eight hundred south african rands to do this! :nonono: Can This be done any other way? or for less money elsewhere without jeopardising MP.

Thanks

I could do that on my 1er but the e86 interface seems to be different. Those options don't come up in the menu. I'll try again and see, but even the manual says it's supposed to be programmed onto the key, not in the car itself

Not configurable via the car.

On the later cars with the more intense I-Drive, it can be done.

You need SSS or advanced knowledge of NCS to do this.

Some idependant with SSS will be able to do it for you I am sure.

Thanks for the responses guys..! But basically, If I want the doors to lock when I drive off, I gotta fork out the R800... that's a bit of a bummer ... :thumbdo:

Find a private mechanic who has the necessary equipment to do it for you? My mechanic programmed the beeping sound and flashing lights when locking and unlocking the doors for me at no cost. The auto locking doors was already programmed on my car. Takes about 5 mins to do. I think he used Carsoft or something to do it.

You can do this & more with one of those OBD INPA coding cables & a laptop.

Hi Guys! still looking for any volunteers to help me out with this... we could do it over a 6-pack or 2? I believe it's quite quick and easy and the stealers want a tad more than seems sensible :thumbdo:
