useful input from 5 series owners invited

My colleague has offered me his 09 530d for R340k. It is a sport pack version with navigation and it is accident free. Is the offer worth it, in your opinion, bearing in mind how quickly these vehicles lose their value. I have never owned a 5 series hence this (seemingly silly) question. It makes no sense to take the vehicle if after two years it has lost more than half its value.

@ Leonard (if you are reading this) apologies for not pitching yesterday. An unplanned work meeting messed up my entire day.

Ul only be able to tell if it is a fair price if you look at mileage as well..it seems average though..generally BMW's always lose more value than merc and audi. I feel second hand market prices are driven by demand of that particular model, so high demand cars will always keep higher values. If u can get hold of that lil book some dealers use to check car values itl help, otherwise look at what the rough prices are over a month or so on autotrader on the same car with similar extras and you should get an idea of whether it's a good price or not.
I always rate if you don't need the car urgently, do your homework, have patience and ul find somtin good at the right price in the end :)..
Good Luck :)
