UK 120d

Hi, my son bought a 2005 UK 120d with sat/nav but with the UK maps. Will it work if i take my 2005 X5 sat/nav dvd and put it in the 120d? Must admit that the sat/nav on the X5 is nothing to get excited about. Also, if it does work will i be able to copy it for him?

im assuming your X5 is an E53? If so, nope, it won't work. You'll need CCC Nav disks for the 120d. I believe guys have tried to copy the CCC disks and failed so getting the original disks from BMW is likely your best option. I don't think these are that expensive anymore if memory serves. You'll also want to confirm that the DVD drive on the 120d still works as these do fail with age.

Thanks for the response Gert. Will post pics as soon as i see the car again. yes, my X5 is E53 model. And yes, m/s as in motorsport. Will find out the price for the nav disc, thanks.
