hey guys

Been having an issue with my tyre pressure monitor,it keeps coming on,i checked the pressure and all the tyres are at the same pressure and not losing air.

Has anybody had this issue and how did u resolve it?
i noticed this start happening after i replaced my rear tyres.

Had the same issues. The pressure sensors does not work on the tyre's pressure, but make use of the wheel speed sensors to tell the car whether one wheel is turning faster than another one, thus indicating that one wheel's circumference is less than the other, meaning it has less air than the other tyres.

Long story short, if the wheels' thread depth differ or if you have different brands on either side of the car, it may trigger this fault.

If ALL the tyres are on pressure, been balanced and 4 wheel alignment done and you STILL have the problem, then start by replacing the wheel speed sensors one by one to pinpoint a possible faulty one. And still after this you have problems, it could be the controller module. Then we start talking $$$ unfortunately.

Hi

It it's a E90 , you can reset the monitoring system from your OBC. Thereafter it should be fine.
I presume this should work on the other models as well.

prolly all it needs is a reset.. if i understand how it works correctly, it monitors the rolling circumference of the wheels using the abs sensors.. so if you changed wheels the differance might be enough to trigger the alarm.

on the e46 hold the button for 10 seconds, till the light comes on yellow on the display. release and it should relearn the new circumference.

When I drive to Jhb, and I go over the roadworks where there is a diffrence in the level of the road surface like this ---->
-----______------ then mine triggers as I go up onto the normal road surface again. Very annoying seeing that you cant Reset the e90's whilst moving. I cant think that going up the little bump can cause it to trigger. Ive stopped about three times in a panic checking wheels. Now I just Ignore it up until 'im able to stop and reset it. :cursin:

Have since invested in a portable preasure gauge wich rides in the glovebox compartment and check the tire preasures once a week.

hi if i hold it down for 10 seconds then the light will go off then drive +/- 2km the it goes red again.i will get it turned to yellow, afterwards how long should it remain on yellow before it resets it memory?

i got 275/30/19's on the rear, called BMW,they reckon i can go any size if the car aint in plan and the tyre is clear of the shock, previously had 265/30/19's.

my friends M has same size as mine, pressure monitor light not going on
