Tyre help

Hi all

I had a pothole incident where my right front decided to do the splits on the sidewall. Got the notification of a puncture and had to pull off. I called BMW On Call and they couldn't get me a loan tyre, so it had to be towed to Club Motors Randburg. Yesterday I called and they said that they had not received it :nonono: even though the tracking unit shows that it is on their premises.

I called today and they have the car and I will be called, however I just want to take my car to have all the tyres replaced. The crack is not repairable so a new set is needed (there goes the christmas bonus ).
I was just wondering if I can get the car, pump it with some tyreweld or tyrefix for an absolute temporary fix and drive it to have the tyres changed. Its about 20km's from Club Motors to the tyre place. Was just wondering if its an okay idea. Club Motors hasn't even called me, I have had to call them constantly and I will not leave my car at a dealership where they didnt even know that the car was on their premises.

Any ideas will be welcome

What car is this exactly?

Why not just borrow a set of wheels to drive the car somewhere else?

Some BMW dealers have Tyres for sales but they are quite pricey.

BMW on Call were supposed to source the tire for you.

Well the problem is that these are 245/35 and I have a spare 265/35 only. The car has no jack as it has no spare wheel either :flyfun:. I am trying to source a space saver but the only one I can get quickly is my dad's merc space saver.
I just got called by them and they dont know whats wrong with the car, even though it came there due to a puncture and the idrive displays that puncture message :bangdesk:

Besides the space saver, do you think that tyre fix idea is good?

Edit: BMW was supposed to source the tyre for me? I didn't know that.

I must say this dealership sets new levels for stupidity.

Please ask them for your car back, they dont deserve to have it.

I will be doing that. Still not even a quote as to how much the tyre will cost. I think I'm gonna go there armed with a wheel spanner and jack and i'll have to take the tyre off.

Club Motors Randburg level of service is disturbingly low.

Normally the studs are standard size 17mm socket. And you should have the locknut adapter in the boot somewhere.

Can't believe these idiots at the dealerships. You having to diy in the workshop is hillarious. I would put the car in the showroom for everyone to see how you work on it.

Absolutely shocking.

You coming right otherwise?

It took them 45 mins to take 1 wheel off. It took another 45 mins to put it back on. I had to get them to take it off :thumbdo: but I did manage to sort everything out. She's getting a whole new set as we speak so everything has come right. Thanks for all the help :) good to have a forum with fellow BMW drivers, even if it's just for a rant.
