I called Mintys now in Sandton and was told that the T1R has been replaced with the T1 Sport.
I asked about the Proxe 1 and R1R and was told that this cannot be ordered. :nonono:
T1 Sport - Mintys
265/30/19 - R2664
235/35/19 - R2064
Don't go that wide IMO. Look at the new BRZ and GT-86 they went skinny tyres with a lekker suspension setup for maximum enjoyment. I feel that the Z4M and E46M3 have the perfect setup with 225/40/18 up front and 255/40/18 at the rear.
I had Pirellis 265 on the back and put Toyo T1 Sport 255/40/18 on the rear from minty's and I got a deal on R4080 for both. Grip is excellent and they balanced quite well. No noise to report of and in fact they are quieter than the much pricier pirelli's, but that could be due to the smaller contact surface.
Wet weather grip is also surprisingly good. It's passed my rooftop drift test in the wet and dry with flying colours.
Only downside is that it's rumoured to not last very long. They tend to wear down much quicker than the legendary michelins.
Having that said I haven't owned a set of tyres that I wore down before they incur punctures or sabotage on the sidewall that require replacing anyway. So IMO it's a Win
One last thing, the /40/ profile will give you a much smoother ride as well. More protection for you rim too. That's if you sticking to 18"s
