I am looking to buy a new M135i and I have a good deal lined up and negotiated, I just have to sign the OTP...
One problem though. I really need a detachable towbar fitted (no I am not going to tow anything, but is crucial for me to cart my bicycles. I don't want to go the roof rack option as you can imagine how that will scream with windnoise on a 135i. The "Strap on" thule type rack is just not an option for me. I use my bikes daily so too much of a hassle and scared it scratches my paint. It also doesn't lock to the car so I don't want my bikes getting nicked as they cost the price of a small car.
Execuhitch in Pretoria wants to build one due to the demand, but doesn't have a car to test on so I can't get a confirmation from them that it is going to be possible.
I found a place in Ireland that does a Bosal one, so my last resort is having it shipped from there and fitted locally.
What is totally confusing me is that I found an add online for a M135 (pictures etc so I know its the right model) with a towbar fitted. Can't get hold of the guy so I don't know how he got this right.
I am almost ready to go to my nearest Merc dealer to see if they can give me an A45. I know that has a standard towbar option.
