I know. That report wasn't pretty.

Actually that entire episode was pretty boring.

Personally I think the X6 is pretty awesome, but only because it is so senseless, in terms of off roading capabilities, it is useless, not that I expected anything else.

Edit: Take note that JC is usually very critical of all BMW's

The Lexus in the episode was pretty awesome, for me at least

i think he is technology impaired lol.

when he drone the m5 , he complained about the i drive system and everything else until the car was on the track. he only had good things to say about the performance , personally i think the features on any bmw are awsome .

I don't mind the iDrive, not that I have ever lived with it, but using it in some of the cars I was looking at, at a dealer it didn't seem to hard to work with.

I don't take too much notice of him when testing BMW's, like in the M5 when he wants to change the volume of the radio and presses the change track button, then complains about it, that was just dumb, how can you not notice the pic of the speaker at the appropriate buttons and then blame it on the car.

i liked his comment about the upturned pie dish :)

I have never used iDrive but in general i want controlls in a car that i dont have to look at to operate if each button does one job you can feel which button you pushing and then you dont have to look at it...

the problem is they put to much crap in cars now so they have to make a plan or there will be a bizzion buttons everywhere and you wont be able to move for fear of pushing some random button that you will have to find again and push it some more till it is that way you wanted it...

I had a small discussion about the X6 with a mate at work.

He said he does not get the point of it and it's a total waste of money, blah, blah.

I then gave the following analogy. If you walk into a Rolls Royce dealership and ask for the price you can't afford it and it's just not for you.
In a similar manner, if you're gonna walk into a BMW dealership and ask what's the point of an X6, it's probably not for you either .... :nono:

Sat in one at the dealer when they first came out, after that I was sold on the idea of an X6, not that I think it is pratical in any way shape or form, for some reason I just liked it.

I must admit I was also facinated by the dual opening glove box :)

The whole idea behind an X6 is its presence. It doesn't do offroad. Not practical when looking for extra space but damn if u see one coming down the road peoples heads WILL turn. I saw a Black Xdrive 5.0 X6 up close the other day. Exhaust as big as lamborghinis and wheels as wide as the N1. Its a spectacular car to look at. And the X6M will beat an ML63AMG and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo by FOUR CAR LENGTHS!! Check it out on you tube
