I'm new to the forum, and thought I'd just "throw this out there". I drive a 2013 X3 2.0d with the X-Line package, which includes 18" wheels. I bought the car as an approved 1 year old late last year, and when you buy used, you take what you can get.
I didn't want the 18" wheels - I much prefer the look of the 17's, and I also believe that the 17's will give a better off-road ride and perhaps a slightly more comfortable on-road ride due to the higher profile wheel. They are also obviously less expensive to replace... But this is just my personal preference, I know a lot of people really like/prefer the 18's.
So I was wondering, is there anyone out there (preferably in the JHB/Edenvale/Bedfordview area) that has a current or 1 gen previous X3 with standard 17" wheels/tires that they'd like to "upgrade" to 18" wheels?
This is how it'd work - a straight swap - no money changing hands, my 18s for your 17s. The only condition is that I will only swap "like for like". My 18's are in essentially perfect condition - no repairs, marks, damage, scratches, etc. I've done 40,000km, so thats how much wear is on the tires.
We take both vehicles to TWT, they can check out both wheels and give us mutual assurance what the mags are in equally good condition, and they do the swop for us - should cost almost nothing. Balancing/alignment .. whatever obviously for our own account.
