Time for some maintenance work

Hi Gents

So after adding in all the mods to my car and enjoying it, well actually loving it for the past year. Its time for some maintenance work.

Time to do another oil change. I will use Liqui Moly again, but should I use 5w30 or 5w40 with the mods I have?

Spark plugs: This time I will use NGK 5992 (part number has changed) and gap them at 0.022 as BMS recommends. Just need to find someone that can gap them correctly and torque the plugs in when installing. Currently using BMW OEM n55 plugs.

Will also be replacing the two Vanos Solenoids instead of cleaning them, been getting a Vanos outlet code only when the car is cold, but not all the time.

Any leads on the spark plug and oil supplier at good prices would be appreciated.

Thanks Gents

Got my ngk spark plugs from Autozone, prices are reasonable and you can gap them yourself.
My car loves them much less misfires but that could have been the older plugs.

Hi Akash, do you perhaps have the new part number, and also, how did the NGK's run?

I'm getting a part number from Cent Part as (NGK) SILK BR8D8S. Would this be correct. Google is not being helpful on this one...

The part number is NGK ILZKBR7B8DG (95770). At the time i did not run the backend flash so i ran the OEM N55 plugs on the N54, they ran alot better at the time with the more exposed single electrode design.

Now with the higher boost im going to switch to the NGK's.

Hey Bud

Def go for the NGK Arridium Plugs - 1 Step Colder for Stock Turbo
2 Step for Big Turbo

As far as Oil goes
I would Suggest Liquid Molly - I rate it as one of teh best

Liquid Moly
Top Tec 5w30 4200
You can get it from Naskar or even try Gert - OBDWorx

i'm using helix ultra 5w40. after much research and opinions/recommendations it was noted that 5w40 works best/better within our climate conditions. my last oil change i went with helix ultra 5w40 and my 335 loves it. oil temps are always within range. no funny noises nothing.
