This is what heat can do

Today i get called outside, my lights flashing like crazy on the E36. I check the windows and the locks and everything seems fine. I unlock and lock again and get back in the shop. This afternoon after work I get into the car and see this:

Any Ideas how I can get this back, there seems to be some kind of wax type glue on it. Would normal Genkem work on this, anybody else had an issue like this before?

wow

contact adhesive should be fine
thin layer on both surfaces, wait for touch dry, push toegether and apply pressure, maintain pressure for a while, a long time, maybe dissaemble and glue away from the car where you can apply constant continuous pressure.

WOW! :slow: darn, that is just not nice.
Yeah, some contact adhesive should sort that out nicely, but please please please don't try to glue it while still in your car...
Take that baby out and glue it on a table.
Make sure to put that pressure on for a while and then leave it to dry overnight at least (I know the glue sometimes gives shorter periods, but just trust me on this one).

Also ensure to prep it properly, i.e. clean it off nice and let it dry completely, can even use drier (preferably not on high heat though) to blow it nice and dry.

Looks more like it has come loose previously and someone used double sided tape on the top to try and keep it in place. If you dont mind doing the same you could use more double sided tape

Leave you windows slightly open if the car is parked in the sun. There are alot of other electronic components in a car and electronics dont like heat sometimes. Just as a precaution
