Its important to thank those that help you prosper, this thread is purely to pass our appreciation to all involved in making The Fanatics Race Day '15, the success it has been and detail the trip to the track as a Forum.

First off, i would like to begin by being gracious to the Almighty for giving me the ability to perform the task of coordinating this event. In the same breath, I thanks God for giving us this platform and its amazing members and sponsors as well as giving our suppliers the ability to do their job so we could have a first class event.

Its going to be difficult for me to remember every single name that assisted but im going to try. Take note, planning for this event began early January 2015.

TheFanatics event coordinators
Everything begins with a discussion by my trusted coordinators. Fuzz, Firoze_D, 444yyy, Spiro. It was instant YES from all of them. Thats what we needed, positive attitude.

We began looking for venues, receiving quotations and availability for July as we wanted a proper Winter event so the cars could perform optimally. From all the race tracks we approached, ODI was chosen as they had the date available, the cost was reasonable, bear in mind, this Forum is run purely on the income generated from advertisers so our bank account was not in a position to hire a track.

This is where we divert our thanks to the 4 Sponsors.
Rennzport - Sir Charles and Mr Zaahier
Xcede Performance - Mr Sherwin Singh
Prominetix - Honourable Husain Pochee
Motorlease - His Highness, Imtiaz Akbar

We all have to thank these guys, without them, the event would have just been a failed thought.

Once we had the sponsors word, we confirmed Ivan (ODI). What a gentlemen!! There was absolutely no issue dealing with Ivan. His rules and regulations were defined from the start, we knew what we had at our beck and call. I am sure you would agree ODI catered for our Adrenalin rush in style. Yes, there venue needs some shade and proper toilet facilities, i am sure sooner or later it will be a world class venue.

Now that we had most of our bills covered, we needed to cover the balance. The event coordinators discussed pricing, initially we started at R1000 per car and limited to 30 cars and no spectators, making it a private event. After some discussions about what we wanted out of this event we decided to make it a public event with 55 cars at R300 per race car and R30 per spectator. Making it affordable, valuable and entertaining for all.

Forward along to the 14 of April, when this Event went live. Within 2 days, we sold 70% of the entries. Our sponsor, Rennzport buying 16 additional entries, over and above the 6 allocated to them through their sponsorship. Special thanks to Firoze_D for managing the registration forms for the Rennzport team.

As the registration forms were sent out, we had proof of payments coming in thereafter the registration forms. Kish2604 began capturing the data onto a single spreadsheet for ease of use. Once all the data was captured, we had an idea of the cars we were dealing with and began class allocations. 12 entries over an above the 45 public entries were allocated to the sponsors of Race Day 15. In the last week, we added 3 bikes to spice things up a bit.

Emails upon emails were sent out to the registered racers, im sure you guys were kept in the loop of things throughout the journey.

I wont lie, it is an admin job to manage the registrations, following up for reg forms etc is a nightmare but thankfully, all participants played their part and we didn't have to chase anyone.

At this point, we had paid ODI the deposit for the track, as we knew there was no turning back.

The brilliance of our community began to show from here on. I was approached by Hubblyking (Delano) and DVST8 (Shikar) asking how can they get involved. Initially i had said we got everything covered but if they would like to sponsor prizes to the winners, that would be good. Both agreed. However, 2 weeks before the event when i placed the order for the trophies, i realized we doing 1km and 400m, we needed an extra set of Trophies. Then, i didn't want to use the Shoe Polish to number the cars, we needed money to get the race number stickers printed. I contact these two gents and money was deposited into the account to make payment for the items required.

On the topic of trophies, Terrific Trophies was approached for qoutations and they were by far the most reasonable. The trophies did look awesome if i may say so myself. Thanks to Nino and Saajid at Terrific Trophies.

Firoze_D, again was ready to assist with getting the stickers sorted via his supplier of choice.

Food was arranged via a buddy of mine, Sirhaan and his Father In Law. I must thank you guys as the food was awesome. I enjoyed the Prego Steak Roll very much.

List of entries, looking awesome. Program for the day finalized. Trophies sorted. Stickers done. All the tools were in order, i needed them to get them done... I needed a team...

131Gav offered his assistance to manage the first entry point, he built a team of volunteers, set the schedule and managed them like a professional on the day. Gav, please list your team members in a reply?

As always, my hometown members, the road tripping boys, the Coastal flavors. Durban rocked this event, correct me if im wrong i think there was 8 cars, 1 broke in JHB on Saturday night while logging. You guys really inspire me, i feel appreciated when i see you guys at our events, the amount of effort, money and time you guys put in. Im at a loss for words... Thank you.

A special thank you to the 2 Durban gents, the family and 2 members from Cape Town who flew down to spectate at our event.

Mr Charles aka Twinz, thank you for coming down as well, i hope my home was comfortable and my family was hospitable to you.

George Smooth, not a soul can thank this guy enough. Anything needed was ticked. We needed accommodation for the DBN and CT members attending, George provided the rooms at his Hotel. The form staff team building lunch was on Saturday, we needed a venue, we had the hall to us. In style as well, signs put up, tables reserved. Drinks provided. What a man! Any out of towners traveling to JHB, need a place top stay, book yourself into St Georges Hotel and Conference center (normal rates apply). George even went further and arranged chairs and tents for us at ODI.

Rico, Jody and wife... Another one i cannot thank enough for transporting our gazebos, boxes tables, etc to the track and back to my house. Really cannot thank you guys enough. All done with smiles.

Z_1_335, thank you for offering your bakkie to me. I picked up the caddy on Saturday and did not need to borrow your bakkie. Although the caddy is not a load friendly bakkie. Thanks anyways brother...

Scrutineers, thank you for prioritizing the morning to get the racers into the pits.

ChefDJ and Raamstrong, thank you gents for standing in the sun the entire day managing the line.

Divio, honestly more dedicated than i am towards TheFanatics. Running around, in the sun, putting his life at risk to get the best pics. Then taking the time to edit and upload them for our memorable pleasure.

Max My Ride Magazine, thank you for supporting our event. Rushen Naidoo was at the track, busy taking pics. Same as Divio, risking his life to get the best shots. I saw these guys walk into the the plumes of smoke during the M135i's burn out.

5.0 Boys Toys, the TV Production crew. Earl, Volente, Heins, etc, you guys were brilliant. Im sure you guys had more fun that work. Looking forward to seeing the footage.

Participants and Spectators, i hope you all enjoyed the event. Its been a lot of hard work from my team to prepare and manage this event. Being our first, we ask for forgiveness, but please don't forget to provide feedback, good or bad. We will better this event next year. Events Feedback Thread

Nazeer Loonat (NOS-GP), thank you for your advise and assistance through the preparation for this event. Without your advise, we were lost.

Regrets to the gents that broke down on route to the track or at the track. We had 2 prior to the event and 2 at the event and about 4 cars that did not attend. Hope you guys recover soon and prepare to be stronger than before.

Many thanks to all involved, you guys made this event a success... Appreciate every things from anyone.

Results are being captured, we will upload before the end of the week, latest. I have emailed the ODI time sheet to all racers.

Once again, thank you all for your support.

Well done to all involved, and especially to Arbee. Without your initiation of the event, this would never have happened. The biggest event of the year was a major success.

Arbee...

An event of this nature needs planning and planning and planning... this has to be the smoothest event I have ever attended/been apart off... there wasn't anything from the organizers side that was not up to scratch!

It was a pleasure to be apart of it!
