Cutting out the rusted driver's floor pan on my 1970 2002ti

Took many hours to get the new panel to fit accurately, and now for tig welding it back in.

Will update this as I go along, there are about 20 more panels to go, excluding the smaller ones I make myself.

I might not be a great welder, but I can grind quite well!

Some more grinding work to do, but so far so good.

Been a while since I had time to work on the 2002ti, but I am now making preparations to replace the sills. Being a major structural component, I am bracing the car to make sure there is no movement while I cut the chassis up.

Anyway, here is a shot of the new floor panel from the inside. It needs some cleaning up of the welds and then primer.

Mocking up the brace.

Tig welding the brace up. My TIG skills are improving slightly.

Still one more cross brace from the door to the transmission tunnel to do, and then some cutting to remove the damaged areas.

These panels are getting replaced.

Slow progress, but it should be done before 2050ish...
