Thanks everyone, i hope i get my BMW at some point,

Speaking of which, this ad for a 135i, 2008 model, 158k km on it. is the price of 200k a bit too much, or is it average?

https://www.olx.co.za/ad/2008-bmw-1-series-135i-coupe-ID16hztI.html#3bd1745998

That seems abit steep imo, you could find cheaper ones

Looks very clean, Get the Vin First and run it with John from BMW he will be able to pull whole history of the car.

Will do IceMan, ive spoken to John in the past, and he is very helpful.

Im just waiting for a response from the seller, and maybe discuss further from there.

What is your budget and max mileage you looking at?

budget id say around or up to the R180k mark, and mileage, im not too phased on, as long as its clean and well maintained, ill be happy, my Coupe is running 320 000km and doesnt miss a beat to this day after 6years ownership. and is my Daily.

the vehicles ive been looking at have ranged from 109 000km to 160 000km.

Welcome to the forum.

I am glad you changed that black bonnet, it looks really good with the gold one. :praise:

Also, that looks like an epic DIY, good on you for taking lots of pics to document it!

Q: how is that paint job holding up to your touch? I have yet to perfect spray painting, and although I always prep property (Sand, Clean, Prime etc), it always has the tendency to peal after a few months!

Hi there, appreciate the compliment thank you.

the paint job has not faded or peeled, and its been nearly 3years that its been in. that included removing and replacing the centre console multiple times for whatever reason.
when i wash my car, the paint on the console gets a light coat of polish and sealer when the body work gets polished, so keeps it fresh and durable.

Prep work is key, this process included:
Completely sand down parts.
3 x coats of red base primer (Red made the orange paint a bit deeper in colour and not too lumo)
5 x coats of Tangerine Orange (with a wet sanding between every dried coat with 1500grit)
3 x coats of Clear lacquer (wet sanded at the end with 2000grit, and finished with a polish)

The Matt black was sprayed same as above, just no clear coat so as to keep that OEM looking texture.

Cool thanks for the DIY breakdown.

Last question, is your nickame intended to be General.Massacre as in: "I am generally just going to massacre you lot" or "I am the army general of massacres"?
