I have finally got fibre to my home and its currently only connected to my 2013 smart tv for Netflix, only app available.

I want to fully utilise my uncapped fibre,

What are fellow members using their fibre for in order to get the most out of it?

I got 100/100 upgrade to my fibre the other day, Using it with an android TV box with Terrarium to stream and download movies.

how important is it to have a vpn account when downloading movies

What is this you speak of? :fencelook:

I only borrow movies from that bay place, you know where pirates like to go on holiday and trade information for the greater good...

That said, I have never used a VPN for it. You're most likely to just get an email from your service provider to cease and desist.

Get a Roku or Chromecast or a PS4 (heavier on power consumption) and open up your world to more apps.

I use my 10mbs upcapped line to:
- stream video on 2 TVs (only one can be on HD at a time, given my 10meg line)
- run my 8 CCTV cameras all day long

I don't use a VPN - having SA Netflix + DSTV Now + Showmax is more than enough entertainment for me.

If you can "borrow" someone's DSTV Premium account details, you can stream DSTV Premium (and access Catch Up too), without a decoder. You just need a device to support the DSTV Now app. As part of this deal, you also get free ShowMax (offer ends 31 March 2019, but I think they will extend it). There is nothing illegal with this option. Refer the Ts and Cs here:
http://campaigns.dstv.com/getconnected/DStv_NOW_APP_Ts_and_Cs.pdf Basically, one DSTV Premium Decoder + 2 DSTV Now apps (streaming at the same time) is the allowed limit.

PS - you can stream sport on Live DSTV with the DSTV now app.

I just bought a Samsung series 7 Smart TV - for the life of me, I cannot get the DSTV now app to work on the TV (using my parent's premium account).. I've done the code verification more times than I should've :hammerhead:

To try and get around the above, I was using the internet browser on the TV to watch via Catch Up and recently after every minute, either the sound disappears or the picture freezes.. Not sure if there is some update that's needed..

Thanks for the replies, its much appreciated.

what site do you guys use to stream sports

For sports, you are mostly out of luck. If you're like me and absolutely hate soccer, then it is even worse, I am sure you'll be able to find some soccer somewhere.
Even if you're willing to subscribe for example to SKY Sports (F1), it is still not really possible, technically yes, but realistically no.

You have a working version of Terrarium? I moved to TV Zion but the sources are so slow.
