Tail Light Issues

Hi Guys

I have a 2004, 318i F/L Beemer. The right rear tail light on body, seems burned out at the socket. I also get intermittent signals from the rear left side. I got 2 x cluster units from MD house, however, I cannot seem to get the Looms for these clusters.
This is a common problem, as I have been told.
Where can I get the Looms, and how can I rectify the problem for future?
I am in Randburg.
Any assistance will be apprieciated, as my wife is driving the car, and seems to get a lot of zap signs when other drivers don't notice her hand signals when turning.

Is it just the ground that has been burned or more wires? I am not sure on the E36, but if the clusters you purchased include the bulb carriers then you should be able to plug and spades from BMW and replace the plug on the wiring side.

Both male and Female connectors have been burnt. Will confirm if Ground only, when wife brings the car back.

Solution to your problems

If your connectors are badly damaged. Replace them like normal and then splice a ground connector on like in the link.

But cheapest fix, if your connector is still ok, is to use the fix from the first link.

I managed to cut the Earth wire, and bypass it directly to the housing unit. Its works perfectly.:=):

After solving the problem on the right rear light, and changing the brown wire to a direct link to the cluster, I seem to be having a similar signal from the LEFT rear light.
I thought I could do the same quick fix, however, I notice that there is no Brown Earth wire.
Any solutions.

You need to earth that cluster also. Its easy just check and follow the metal track that touch the outside housing of the globe. you will also see there is somwhere place on the housing on the track for a push on terminal
